This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago at a Maasai welcome ceremony. You may have noticed from some pictures that many of the Maasai are missing one or two front teeth - it became tradiation during a time when tetanus was prevalent to remove these teeth at a young age, that way if lock jaw occured they would still be able to eat.
